Shopping and Shops

What is the difference between a thirft shop and a vintage shop?

I know a thrift shop is like goodwill and a vintage place is like super old clothes and stuff from like the 20's but can you find vintage at like a goodwill? Has anybody ever found vintage designer things or is that just a thing you see on tv?

  1. The difference is that thrift shops have anything. You can get a new outfit hardly worn or an old "vintage outfit" because people donate their stuff that they don't want. Vintage shops are more specialized, they only take "vintage" stuff that people don't want.
  2. I have a friend who owns a vintage shop. It's funny, but she gets stuff from garage sales, flea markets, Goodwill and Salvation Army stores, as well as donations. Usually the quality of the products she sells is much better than the thrift store stuff, and generally closer to being antique, but as old. And also because she can get more money for it.
